Red Ridge Farms—-Lee’s Summit (Lakewood) Pickup

Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) Program 2012 Contract/Membership Agreement

Please register me as a member of Red Ridge Farms Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) Program.  I understand that farming is a seasonal and unpredictable undertaking, and that exact selections and quantities included in the weekly distribution will change as the season progresses.  I understand that my produce will be grown with sound, sustainable, chemical free farming practices.

Name:

Address:

Phone numbers:

E-Mail:

Indicate which share size & style you want (please read all the way down- there are 3 options this year).  Prepay for the season and your bag will be packed each week with a variety of fresh, naturally grown produce, at a discounted organic market price.  Delivery is each Wednesday from April 11th until September 26th, for a total of 25 weeks.  The start date may vary due to weather.

Full Share:  Approximately 5-9 items per week, for 25 weeks.  $25 per week, for a total of $625.  You may pay the total now, or divide it ($100 now to hold your share; $300 due March 1, $225 due April 11).  This is a traditional CSA system, where the farmer selects the produce.

Partial Share:  Approximately 3-6 items per week, for 25 weeks.  $18 per week, for a total of $450.  You may pay the total now, or divide it ($100 now to hold your share; $200 due March 1, $150 due April 11th).  This is a traditional CSA system, where the farmer selects your produce for you.

We understand that some weeks are difficult for you to pickup on schedule.  We encourage you to sign up with a friend or neighbor to help facilitate weekly pickups.  New for 2010:  If you selected from the 2 options above, you may “skip” TWICE for PRESCHEDULED events. We will add those weeks at the end of your session.  You must let us know 1 week in advance of a skip week, so we can plan.

The third option is a market style CSA option.  Prepay for the season and buy what you want, when you want, all season long.  Choose from the ‘availability’ list that will be provided each week.  There is no set amount you must spend each week, just use all your dollars by the end of the season.

$500 Receive 15% more produce, for spending power of $575.

Members agree to pick up produce Wednesdays, 4-5:15 at the Sequoia Drive Marina off Woods Chapel road.  This contract is valid only for the summer 2012 season and will not carry over into 2013.  Thank you for joining us!  We will work hard to bring you fresh, delicious, and natural food.

  1. So what are our weekly choices of fruits? and veggies?

    • kzumalt says:

That’s a great question- and I’ll post the list of veggies we will be growing this year as soon as I finish ordering seed packets. Last year we grew about 160 varieties of different veggies, and I’m going to attempt to shrink that down a little bit- I think I go a bit nuts with the different varieties- I’m not going to grow less types of veggies, just fewer varieties. The only fruit we currently do are melons, strawberries, blackberries, and pears. We don’t grow celery, artichokes, continue to have problems with brussel sprouts and tomatillos, but probably grow the majority of what you are looking for. I am also in the midst of getting last year’s shares online, which will help with that question also.
